You can switch among three view modes: Text View and XML View in which editing can be done, and Browser View which displays the document with a browser. Switching modes is done with theMain Toolbar or the View Menu.

Text View shows the current document as plain text.

Screen is divided between the XML outline view area and the XML text view area. The XML outline area shows only the elements of the document in tree form, and the XML Text view area shows the document elements and text in tree form. This makes it possible to edit while viewing the structure.

Displays current document with a browser. (Browser) appears after the file name in the title bar. Requires Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or later. Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or later is required to set up a XSLT Stylesheet in a XML document and view it with a browser. Because the document cannot be edited in this view, the only menus shown are File, View, Tools, Window and Help. There are also changes in which functions can be executed from the File and View Menus. The menu that appears with a right-click is the Microsoft Internet Explorer Menu.

Display of Unicode character

XML Editor V3.2 supports the display of Unicode character. All characters of Unicode can be displayed as long as the font is appropriate. Because Unicode character in the contents of editing document can be input and output to the screen as the code of Unicode, it is possible to edit it with correctly displaying the language, such as not only English, Japanese but also Chinese (Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese) and the language of main Western Europe.

In the initial condition, the standard default font of XML Editor is "FixedSys". When the specified language is not displayed by default, please specify the Font (Name) to which the language can be displayed. It can be specified in "View" tab of "Option" dialog opened from "Setting" in the File menu. The font that can be specified in the document is one kind.

Note;
The following languages and characters might not be able to be displayed nor to be edited correctly.

• Language that uses character that makes one syllable from the sequence of plural character-codes of Unicode. Such as Thai and language of Southeast Asia like Lao.
• Language that permutes sequence of character-code if necessary, and uses Devanagari character to substitute their glyph when displaying. Such as South Asia language like Hindi.
• Language that uses Arabic and Hebrew alphabet written from right to left. Such as Arabic, Persian, Urdu and Hebrew.
• Even in case of Latin alphabet, the character which is synthesized from sequence of plural character-codes and is displayed like one character, such as ligature, might not be treated correctly.

Starting XSLT Processor

You can start an XSLT processor directly from the XML Editor.

Setting of each condition can be specified in the following dialog.

Some XSLT processors may only see stylesheet selection for an XML document. In this case, parameters set in this dialog will be invalid. Please be sure to read your XSLT processor manual before using this command.
