Licensing centre

As of August 1, 2002, the new licensing structure of XSL Formatter started. Developer License is newly added licensing type. Antenna House will strictly prohibit to use evaluation version for the development activity. Software developers and system integrators shall purchase Developer License in order to use it as a development tool.

Standalone License

Standalone license is required for running XSL Formatter on a computer except a server computer. One standalone license is required for each client or a standalone computer on which you wish to install and run XSL Formatter.

XSL Formatter can run only on a computer that it is installed. This license does not allow to provide the function of XSL Formatter for other computers directly or indirectly that is accessible to the computer XSL Formatter is installed.

Server License

Server License is required for running XSL Formatter on a server computer and for each client using XSL Formatter running on that server.

One Server License is required for one server computer, can be installed to only one server computer. The installed program of our product can be used only on the server computer. But there are no number limit of client computers connected to use XSL Formatter running on that server.

One Server License is required for one CPU. That is, 2 licenses are necessary for a dual CPU server machine.

Attention

Server license does not allow to put executable programs such as .EXE .DLL included in XSL Formatter on a file server, does not allow clients to read and run the programs on client computers.

Developer License

XSL Formatter Developer license is for developers those who integrate the function of Antenna House XSL Formatter into the external application.

XSL Formatter developer license includes the license of XSL Formatter standalone. Therefore there is no need to purchase a standalone license separately.
Developer license is available only for the developing and testing systems. It's not available for the production purpose.
This product allows a customer who signed on a software license data to use developer license with only one computer for development purpose. It is not acceptable to re-distribute XSL Formatter developer license and the license regardless of charge or free of charge.
This product doesn't include run-time license. Therefore, it's not acceptable to re-distribute the developed system together with XSL Formatter library to their customer. End-users who want to use the developed system shall need to purchase the license of product version.

OEM License/Redistribution

XSL Formatter license does not allow clients to integrate a program provided with XSL Formatter into customer's product and distribute it free of charge or charged. If you want to use this type of license, OEM license agreement is required.

To better meet the many requests Antenna House has had for OEM arrangements we are now making available a new package built around XSL Formatter called XMLViewer. XMLViewer is strictly for the OEM bundling opportunities. It offers all the power of Formatter but in a package that is lower priced and easier to integrate. XML Viewer is a viewing/printing software of the XML document based on Extensible Stylesheet Language (XSL) Version 1.1 W3C Recommendation, providing the right to use the objects for system integrators or ISVs (independent Software Vendor) who develop and sell the application. Extensible Stylesheet Language (XSL) is the specification to layout and format XML documents.

Evaluation License

Evaluation license permits to evaluate XSL Formatter for every person free of charge. The reason why we permit evaluation license is for the understanding of product and the diffusion of XSL-FO technology. Our corporate objective is to contribute to the international society and make our customers happy through good products and service as a commercial software company.

Things to be done with evaluation license:

To see how XSL Formatter works
To check the function or performance of XSL Formatter precisely
Study the specification of XSL-FO personally
Review how XSL-FO is implemented in XSL Formatter
It is permitted to use Evaluation version for writing books or papers about the subject of XSL-FO, in the condition that the credit, stating, "XSL Formatter Evaluation version is used" is displayed.

Things prohibited to do with evaluation license:

To use evaluation version for the real business activity without written permission from Antenna House is strictly prohibited
To use evaluation version for the purpose of software development such as development of phototype.
To copy and distribute XSL Formatter program
To format XML documents for any customers
To do development service of XSLT Stylesheet for customers
