CIDM and Antenna House invites you to be a part of innovating the future as we announce ConVEx – a virtual experience for content developers: September 21-23, 2020. ConVEx will air live across global time zones to give everyone, regardless of location, an opportunity to participate in this new learning experience. ConVEx is not an online simulation of an in-person conference, but an immersive experience designed from the ground up.
ConVEx has something for everyone, including sessions on:
Those new to content management and/or DITA will find guidance for starting their journey, while for experts, our program offers ways to continue pushing the boundaries. Join us for a chance to share what you already know and find out about things you don’t!
Don't miss these sessions from Antenna House:
This session will go over the differences between XSL-FO and CSS, explore different plugin options, customize stylesheets, and demonstrate how each process works using the DITA-OT and AH Formatter.
This session is a guided tour of some of the accessibility features of DITA, HTML, WCAG, and PDF/UA and how to style content to make it more accessible. The focus will be on file formats rather than User Agent behavior, since the information needed to make accessible HTML or PDF usually needs to be included in, or able to be inferred from, the source XML.
Antenna House is pleased to announce that we will be a sponsor of XML Prague again this year! Come join us on February 7-9 at the University of Economics in Prague for an educational conference filled with sessions and workshops on XML related topics.
XML Prague is a conference on markup languages and data on the web. Topics covered this year include, markup and the extensible web, semantic vision, publishing for the 21st century, XML databases and big data and the state of the XML union.
Antenna House exhibited and presented at CMS/DITA North America in Denver, Colorado. This year marked the 20th annual conference hosted by the Center for Information-Development Management (CIDM) and was filled with valuable information on DITA over the course of three days. This conference offered multiple concurrent sessions with hot topics focusing on DITA reuse, publishing, content strategy, and artificial intelligence. Along with the sessions, there was a DITA clinic, where experts answered questions and helped solve issues with the DITA standard. Attendees could also get hands-on experience in the Technology Test Kitchen, where they could follow along as a presenter demonstrates how to use a new DITA tool or software.
We presented in the Technology Test Kitchen this year with a demonstration on how to format multiple languages in a single DITA document using the Antenna House PDF5-ML plugin for DITA Open Toolkit. The PDF5-ML plugin is designed to work with AH Formatter making it easier to use, simple to modify and maintain, and more powerful than the default PDF plugin that the DITA Open Toolkit provides. Participants showed great interest in the PDF5-ML plugin and got to experience for themselves how quick and easy it is to modify a multilingual document and generating a PDF output.
Through a mix of tutorials, product demonstrations and keynotes from senior industry figures, including Nigel Whitehead, Chief Technology Officer, BAE Systems, the event will bring together some 300 aerospace & defence professionals. This presents the ideal platform for sharing experiences in relation to the development of international specifications.
Hosted by the Aerospace & Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD) in partnership with the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) and the Air Transport Association (ATA), the event is organised by ADS.
XML, by itself, does not have any support for accessibility. XML is extremely flexible, but it needs to flex in the right directions if it is going to support the information necessary to make a document accessible. DITA includes some accessibility features, including some that are unique to DITA. In this webinar, Tony will guide you through of some of the features of the DITA, HTML, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), and PDF/UA (Universal Accessibility) standards. We will focus more on file formats rather than User Agent behavior, since the information needed to make accessible HTML or PDF usually needs to be included in, or able to be inferred from, the source XML.
However, it’s rarely the raw XML that is presented to users. This webinar will also stray into some aspects of styling the content to make it more accessible.
Tony is the developer of Antenna House’s ‘focheck’ XSL-FO validation tool, the author of “Unicode: A Primer”, and provides XSL-FO and XSLT consulting and training services on behalf of Antenna House.
CMS/DITA Europe is designed with your specific needs in mind—providing strategies you can use immediately as you create and manage technical content, and expanding your professional network with information development experts from around the world.
This year, Antenna House will be presenting "Formatting Languages Is Easy As Pie With DITA-OT and PDF5-ML (Plugin)!" in the Technology Test Kitchen on November 5 at 14:20. We will show you how quick and easy it is to format, modify, and publish multilingual documents. The result is a powerful, yet simple method of customizing PDF output from DITA. Not only will you get to see it in action, but you’ll get try it for yourself by following our demo. Just bring a Windows laptop and we’ll supply the rest.
At TC World, we will be showing the latest version of Antenna House Formatter along with PDF5-ML (a PDF transformation plugin that works with the DITA-OT), the AH Regression Testing System for a visual PDF to PDF comparison, Office Server Document Converter for MS Office to PDF conversions on a server, and the AHPDFXML toolkit for converting legacy PDF document files to XML.
This is the world's largest event in the field of technical communication with the TCWorld conference and the tekom fair running parallel with 140 exhibitors from around the world. Participants will get to know the most important future topics and tools in the field of technical communication in more than 240 lectures, workshops, tutorials and meetups.
