Main Features

Create PDFs that conform to ISO 32000-1 (PDF 1.7) and ISO 32000-2 (PDF 2.0) specifications.

Options

The following features are available by specifying various parameters when performing a conversion in Office Server Document Converter.

PDF/A-1a, PDF/A-2b, PDF/A-2a, PDF/A-2b, PDF/A-2u, PDF/A-3a, PDF/A-3b, PDF/A-3u can be output.
Generates Tagged PDF. If the version of the PDF does not allow it to be tagged, it is ignored.
Output linearized PDF optimized for Web display.
When converting Word documents to PDF, the outline hierarchy is reflected in the bookmarks. You can also specify the hierarchical level at which to fold the bookmarks.
Encrypted output of AES128bit/AES256bit.
PDF 1.3 to 1.7 and PDF 2.0 versions can be specified for conversion.
You can set a password (user password or view password) for opening PDF.
Permissions (master passwords) can be set for printing, modification, copying and text extraction.
Fonts used in the original Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) file can be embedded in the PDF file.
(The same fonts must be installed on the server.)
When embedding images, it is possible to specify the resolution, etc.

Restrictions

Limitations for Conversion Accuracy

OSDC generates pages by reading Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint document files and imitating page-up (formatting). Therefore, compatibility with pages created in Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint varies considerably depending on the content of the document.

The page layout of the converted PDF file may differ significantly from that of Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint, so we recommend testing the evaluation version to make sure it meets your requirements.

Limitations for PDF to PDF Conversion

PDF to PDF conversion is supported, but the following features are not reflected in the converted PDF, in addition to restrictions for input and output files.
