High-precision conversion

Although it is extremely difficult to perform high-precision conversions without using Microsoft Office, Antenna House has over 30 years of experience in developing Office conversion tools that make it possible. Since Office Server Document Converter was launched in 2005 (formerly known as Server Based Converter), Antenna House has continuously worked to improve the accuracy of the conversion.

Other Features

Direct Conversion

OSDC direct conversion is a method that does not use the application from which the document was created, nor does it use printer drivers.

Since Microsoft Office automation is not used on the server side, conversions can be done without worrying about its risks or licensing issues when used in the cloud.
There is no need to install Microsoft Office, Adobe software, OpenOffice or LibreOffice to convert Office documents.
Fast conversion to various output formats is possible even in Linux environments.

Amazon Graviton2

OSDC V8.0 or later supports Amazon Graviton2 processors.

PDF/A

PDF/A is a specification for the long-term preservation of electronic documents specified in ISO 19005. Office Server Document Converter can output the following versions of PDF/A.

Office Server Document Converter V10.0 can output;

PDF/A-1a and PDF/A-1b in PDF 1.4 based specification according to ISO 19005-1:2005.

PDF/A-2a, PDF/A-2b, and PDF/A-2u in ISO 32000-1 (PDF1.7) based specification according to ISO 19005-2:2011.

PDF/A-3a, PDF/A-3b, and PDF/A-3u in ISO 32000-1 (PDF1.7) based specification according to ISO 19005-3:2012.

Tagged PDF

OSDC V8.0 and later versions can output Tagged PDFs.

PDF 2.0

OSDC V7.2 and later versions can output PDF2.0 compliant with ISO 32000-2:2017. It also supports conversion from PDF2.0.

Java 11

OSDC is working with Java 11.

Bidirectional Text Conversion

BIDI (bidirectional text) is the mixing of right-to-left characters, such as Arabic and Hebrew and left-to-right writing, such as English.
There are two types of characters: right-to-left (rtl), as in Arabic and Hebrew, and left-to-right (ltr), as in Latin. Also, parentheses and symbols are not directional (neutral). BIDI processing is a mechanism for controlling the directionality of characters in a paragraph in which these characters are mixed and bidirectional, such as the direction of neutral characters.
This allows OSDC to display documents with a large number of languages and characters mixed together.

Benefits of OSDC for Dedicated Host Cloud Services

Effective October 1, 2019, Microsoft licensing terms for dedicated hosted cloud services have been revised. As a result, we have received numerous inquiries from those who planned to use on-premise licensing in a shared cloud environment regarding the operation of their document management systems, particularly how to convert documents.

Please see the following page for more information on the impact of Microsoft's revised licensing terms and the usefulness of Office Server Document Converter in a non-Microsoft licensed environment. Office Server Document Converter can solve your problems.
