OSDC V10.0 New Features

Learn about the enhanced features in Office Server Document Converter V10.0.

PDF/A is specified in ISO 19005 and is a specification for the long-term preservation of electronic documents.

Office Server Document Converter was able to output PDF/A-2b:2011 and PDF/A-1b:2005, but with V10.0, PDF/A-1a, PDF/A-2a, PDF/A-2u, PDF/A-3a, PDF/A-3b, PDF/A-3u can now be output.

It is possible to create long-lasting PDFs and accessible PDFs, such as official documents.

Options and parameters to specify the version of the PDF to be created. (e.g. PDF/A-3a)

Parameters for setting Word outline level output.

• -docnonoutline

OSDC always outputs bookmarks when outputting PDFs, but we have added an option to not output Word outlines as bookmarks.

The minimum reduction ratio can be limited in the range of 10% to 100% to prevent the overall size from becoming too small when the entire page is reduced to fit the specified number of pages. SCALELIMIT is specified by limit:SCALELIMIT, where SCALELIMIT is written as a % specification.

• -xlspaper page:2:1,limit:80%

The above example is set to scale the paper size to fit two pages horizontally and one page vertically, but not to shrink it more than 80%.

The CGM loading function supports the ISO/IEC 8632:1999 CGM, W3C's WebCGM 2.1 specification.

Enhanced functionality of "Docx2HTML Output Version" specialized for converting docx files to HTML.

Feature enhancement

• Added "-split" option to split HTML output according to Word outline levels 1-3.
• Added "-tocout" option to output the table of contents created by Word's automatic table of contents function as a separate file when HTML is output in separate files.
• Added "-pagenavi" option to output links to the next or previous page of the split HTML output.
• Added "-tablestyle" option, which allows table decorations specified in Word to be reflected in the output HTML table cells.
• Added "-lang" option to specify any HTML language code.
• When table of contents created by Word's automatic table of contents function are output to HTML, each <p> tag in the table of contents now outputs the class corresponding to the outline level of the heading in Word. Also added <div>, id, and class to make the table of contents more convenient to use.
• Added a tag to allow placement of a mobile button to control the display/hide of the table of contents. (javascript and css are required to use the mobile button.)

Specification changes

• Table of contents created by Word's automatic table of contents function is now output within <nav> tags instead of being included in the <section> before the table of contents.
• Revised and added the sample CSS.

Revision

• Fixed an issue where the position of a bookmark inserted in Word was sometimes set outside the original <section> when output as HTML.
